How quickly will I feel better after the IV drip? ›
Most patients report significant improvement within 30–45 minutes of the IV drip starting. Full resolution of nausea and dizziness typically occurs within 1–2 hours of completing the drip. Recovery from the underlying infection (diarrhoea frequency) depends on whether antibiotics are indicated and when treatment starts — most bacterial cases improve within 24–48 hours with appropriate treatment.
Do I need antibiotics? Will BGC prescribe them? ›
BGC's licensed doctor will assess whether antibiotics are clinically indicated based on your symptom profile, stool type, fever, and duration. Not all Bali Belly requires antibiotics — viral cases (Norovirus) don't respond to antibiotics at all. For confirmed or likely bacterial TD with moderate-severe symptoms, azithromycin is the first-line antibiotic for Southeast Asia. We never prescribe antibiotics without clinical justification.
Can I claim this on travel insurance? ›
Yes. Every BGC treatment includes a complete clinical medical record with diagnosis codes, medications administered, doctor's signature, and official TMC Clinic Bali letterhead — accepted by most major international travel insurance providers. What if I'm vomiting and can't keep water down? ›

What should I eat during recovery? ›

Avoid dairy, spicy food, alcohol, fatty foods, and raw vegetables for at least 48 hours after symptoms resolve. Is there a minimum age for treatment? ›
BGC treats adults and teenagers (16+) for Bali Belly IV drip. For children under 16, please WhatsApp us before booking — our doctor will advise whether our service is appropriate or recommend a paediatric facility. Dehydration in children under 5 is a medical emergency and requires immediate paediatric assessment.
