What causes Bali Belly and how do I know I have it?▼
Bali Belly (traveller's diarrhea) is caused by bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella), parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium) or viruses from contaminated food or water. Symptoms include watery diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and fever. BGC can do a stool test at your villa to identify the exact cause.
How quickly can BGC arrive at my villa?▼
Typically 30–60 minutes from booking confirmation. We serve all major areas of Bali including Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Ubud, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, and Sanur — open daily 08:00–22:00.
Can BGC do a stool test at my villa?▼
Yes. BGC brings rapid diagnostic tests to your villa including stool analysis, H. pylori fecal antigen test, Giardia and Cryptosporidium rapid test. Results are interpreted immediately by our doctor so treatment can be adjusted on the spot.
Will my travel insurance cover Bali Belly treatment?▼
Yes, if you have travel insurance. BGC issues official ICD-10 medical records signed by a licensed physician — these are accepted by AXA, Allianz, Cigna, Bupa and most international travel insurers for reimbursement claims.
When should I go to hospital instead of calling BGC?▼
Call BGC first — our doctor will assess your condition and recommend hospital transfer if needed. Go directly to hospital if you have bloody stool with severe fever (39°C+), are unable to keep any fluids down for 12+ hours, or have signs of severe dehydration (confusion, no urination for 8+ hours).
